Barbados is the most easterly Caribbean island; it is located at 13.4N, 54.4W. This island is said to be formed by a collision of the Atlantic crustal and Caribbean plates, accompanied by a volcanic eruption. - Harrison’s Cave
Harrison’s Cave is located in the parish of St. Thomas, it is listed as one of the “Seven Wonders of Barbados” by the Barbados Tourism Encyclopedia. It is a magnificent cave and is one of the most popular tourist attraction on the island. It is a natural phenomena of beauty with stalacites hanging from the roof of the cave, stalagmites that come up from the ground accompanied by streams of crystal clear running water that drop to form deep emerald pools. This is a must see attraction.

The Barbados Wildlife Reserve is situated in a natural mahogany wood in the parish of St. Peter and is a unique location for all members of the family. In the Reserve, you can have a chance to see the animals up close and interacting in their own natural habitat. In addition,you can see the Barbados green monkeys; birds such as parrots, flamingoes, peacocks, brown pelicans and sparrows; reptile lovers can see the snakes (in cages), iguanas, turtles and tortoises and the not so native animals such as the Brocket deer, agouti, caiman and armadillo.

The Andromeda Botanical Gardens is a six-acre garden located in the parish of St. Joseph. The garden is an excellent location for plant lovers as it contain a variety of orchids, palms, ferns, heliconia, hibiscus, bougainvillea, begonias and cacti which are complemented by a lovely stream which divides the land to form beautiful pools and waterfalls.

- Birdwatching
There are a number of birdwatching sites in Barbados, where persons can enjoy observing birds; there are:-
- The Bayfield Pond, St. Philip- This is a roadside pond where persons can have a close look at Masked ducks.
- Chancery Lane Swamp, Christ Church- This swamp is easy to attain all times of the year but it depends on the amount of rainfall being experienced; in the autumn, this is one of the best places to study migrant shorebirds.
- Animal Flower Forest, St. Lucy- This is an excellent site for observing hummingbirds.
- Graeme Hall Nature Reserve, Christ Church- This is the major birdwatching sites in Barbados, here you will find Yellow Warble, Egrets and a variety of herons and shorebirds.
