This year, however,after it had flowered,it started to lose its leaves.I thought that I would put a small lily in its tub to brighten it up a bit but I am worried now as my plant seems to have almost dried out.In fact, it looks like it is dying.<br \/>\n.<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/gardenadvice.co.uk\/advisor\/freeadvice\/index.html\">Answer<\/a><br \/>\nThere could be several reasons why your Rhododendron is deteriorating:<br \/>\nAs your plant has been happy for the last couple of years it would indicate that you have the positioning right, so everything points to something at root level. Rhododendrons are robust plants and do not to tend to suffer from many pests and diseases.  This makes me think that the cause of<br \/>\nyour problem is, either it was allowed to dry out in the hot dry Summer, the result of which is now only just manifesting itself, or it is waterlogged which have surprisingly similar effects. I can only assume that if you can plant a lily(which shouldn&#8217;t have any effect)in the pot,that it can&#8217;t<br \/>\nbe root bound which also leads me to the same conclusion.<br \/>\nRhododendrons like a cool root run,preferably out of the full sun.Although the location of the pot seems to be OK,it could just be that it is exposed to the hot sun for too long during the day which has led to it drying out.
