For I do love plants and certainly do not like to kill them.I usually save nearly dead plants,but i don&#8217;t know why it doesn&#8217;t work with my orchid..<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/gardenadvice.co.uk\/advisor\/freeadvice\/index.html\">Answer<\/a><br \/>\nWith regard to your question on orchids,if you have identified them correctly the two types do need slightly differing treatment.However,I will take a guess that they are probably both Phalaenopsis or of that type, particularly if they are showing aerial roots as they will be epiphytes (those which cling to trees etc).I don&#8217;t think that the two species would normally be planted together.<br \/>\nThey will need plenty of light during the winter to help initiate flowers and they need to be in a shadier spot for the summer.A window facing East or West is best during the winter but be careful of low temperatures.Watering is very important,let the orchid compost almost dry then add tepid water until it comes out of the bottom of the pot.You can help humidity by standing in a saucer of pebbles.Feed every third or fourth watering from Spring until the Autumn.<\/p>\n<p>In the case of your Oleander I think this may just need a little encouragement to produce new growth.After flowering next year thin out any old and straggly stems and cut back any stems which look as if they are too tall in order to shape the plant.Remember these shrubs are not totally hardy in the UK and every part of them is very poisonous so take care.<br \/>\nFor More information:<br \/>\n <a href=\"http:\/\/gardenadvice.co.uk\/advisor\/freeadvice\/index.html\"> click here<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Question Non flowering orchid:I have an orchid plant in orchid compost,it is about 3 years old.Since the first time it had flowers,it has never flowered again.
