How can I improve it?<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/gardenadvice.co.uk\/advisor\/freeadvice\/index.html\">Answer<\/a><br \/>\nShady lawn problem:In the spring you need to cover with a seed mixture suitable for shady areas.This normally contains wood meadow grass Poa Nemoralis.If you have a look around the garden section at your local Homebase you will find they sell grass seed for shady areas.Firstly,rake the area with a spring rake to remove all the old dead grass,then cover with seed, about 20 grams to the metre squared.Secondly,cover with a light top-dressing of garden topsoil or loam mixed with 25 percent sharp sand.To finish off water the whole area.The seed should grow in about two to three weeks.<br \/>\nOnce the grass is established allow the shady areas to grow longer than the other areas;because of the shade the grass plants cannot stand as much cutting as grass plants in full sunlight.<br \/> For More information <a href=\"http:\/\/gardenadvice.co.uk\/advisor\/freeadvice\/index.html\"> click here<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Question I have a lawn and it is in shade most of the time, and very thin.
