However, there are several methods you can use to control bamboo and prevent it from taking over your garden or yard. Here are some ways to stop bamboo from spreading:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Root Barrier: Install a root barrier made of a thick and durable material such as high-density polyethylene (HDPE) or concrete. The barrier should be at least 2 feet deep and extend a few inches above the soil level to prevent the bamboo rhizomes from growing over or under it.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Regular Maintenance: Regularly prune the bamboo by cutting down the new shoots that emerge. This will prevent the plant from producing new rhizomes and help control its spread.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Mowing: Mow the bamboo regularly to prevent the growth of new shoots and keep it under control.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Herbicides: Use a systemic herbicide containing glyphosate, imazapyr or fluazifop-p-butyl, which can be sprayed on the bamboo leaves. The herbicide will be absorbed by the plant and transported to its roots, killing the plant from the inside out.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Digging: Dig up the entire clump of bamboo, including its roots, and dispose of it properly.
