Autumn winter hanging basket design <\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

we have been thinking about autumn and winter hanging basket designs using viola and bulbs. One idea we have come up with is using viola plugs to achieve the above effect in the picture with the addition of early flowering spring bulbs iris reticulata, dwarf daffodils, Crocus and tulips.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The bulbs would be planted in layers and as they finished flowering they would be cut back to allow the next bulbs to come through. This means once the bulbs have been removed at the end of the hanging basket flowering in the summer the bulbs planted in the garden it would take a couple of years to recover and start flowering again as cutting them back early would mean they would be non flowering for a couple of seasons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
