The UK and Ireland are home to numerous fruit-bearing trees planted during the late Victorian era and the early 1970s, a time when cultivating personal fruit trees and bushes was highly popular. Many of these older specimens are unique varieties that are no longer commercially grown and thus are not available in local garden centres.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The rejuvenation process typically involves two critical stages. The first is the initial pruning and nourishing of the tree or shrub, ensuring that no more than one-third of it is trimmed during the first pruning session. This is followed by the careful thinning of new sprouts in the spring.
