Maximising Snowdrop Growth: Planting ‘In the Green’ for Optimal Results<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Snowdrops, while often planted in the fall as bulbs, tend to thrive better when planted ‘in the green.’ This technique involves planting them immediately after they bloom, while their leaves are still present. To do this effectively, gently dig up and divide the clumps of snowdrops.<\/span><\/p>\n

For optimal growth, it’s crucial to transplant your snowdrops on the same day you divide them. This prevents the plants from drying out. Bury them deep in moist soil and ensure they’re well-watered for several weeks. This intensive watering regime encourages the roots to re-establish themselves quickly.<\/span><\/p>\n

To further boost your snowdrop’s growth, apply a top dressing of Growmore fertiliser at a rate of one handful per square metre. This will enhance their development, ensuring a beautiful display of early spring flowers the following year.<\/span><\/p>\n

Remember, it’s vital to allow spring bulbs like snowdrops to naturally die back before trimming them. The energy from the leaves is reabsorbed into the bulb, setting the stage for next year’s blooms.
