A range of pots and containers grouped together will provide interest, they need not be expensive. For example using cheaper terracotta pot can save money and they can be made frost proof by painting with Thompsons water seal clear 5 litre to make them frost proof<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Use John Iness number two compost with a few stones or crocs covering the drainage hole so the compost does not flow out then you water the posts<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With Plants, it\u2019s a good idea to start with some winter flowering shrubs plus plants that provide interest with berries etc.<br>Possible autumn and winter pot plants used as a structural plants include<br>Skimmia rubella \u2013 great berries all winter long<br>Helleborus \u2013 dependable winter flowers<br>Sweet box, or Sarcococca confusa \u2013 fantastic for scent<br>Camellia \u2013 providing flower in early spring in shady areas<br>Daphne odora\u2019Aureomarginata\u2019 \u2013 attractive evergreen with highly scented flowers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Once you have decided on your structural shrubs next are the filler plants plated around the structural plants. These include<br>Erysimum \u2018Winter Sorbet\u2019<br>Cyclamen<br>gaultheria<br>Heathers<br>Varigated ivy<br>Pansies and Violas<br>Heucheras<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Finally, no autumn and winter interest post would be complete without some bulbs.
