started by placing the tree stakes so we could work out the ideal distances between the trees plus working out the correct spacing around the bend at the base of the avenue.<br>Placing the stakes and digging the holes out turned out to be a benefit as the winter frost broke down the heavy soil into a finer tilth ideal for planting the trees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure with planting any plant pot grown or bare root is to plant at the same depth in the original pot or field in the case of bare-rooted plant, with the addition of 5 to 10mm covering the root ball so the \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><br>Another key when planting is to firm the soil or compost around the plant&#8217;s roots remove any air pockets as this will dy out the roots killing them, start by
