Tasks for garden November

Gardening tasks for your garden in November
Supports for Perennials – organise some supports for the perennial plants so as they grow next season they do not flop over
Feed Camelia – feed the camelia in the pit with some liquid tomato feed which contains high levels of potash to help with flowering next spring
General fed for the garden over winter with Growmore fertilizer
Point brick wall – the putty on the brick wall near the camelia has fallen out. It’s important to repoint if left the wall will fall over in a few years.
Prune back sambucus black lace – near the garden seat, prune back by a third of each stem to encourage shoots and denser plant for screening.
Clover in the grass – resow clover in the grass
Collect seed from calendula/pot marigolds for sowing next season
Autumn bulb planting – plant some spring flowering bulbs
Hydrangea petiolaris/climbing hydrangea – tap shoots to the wall to allow the plant to start to grip the wall
Consider pruning the sycamore tree at the rear. Size if fine at the moment but if left uncontrolled it will become too large.
Lag outdoor water pipe and tap to stop freezing if we get a very cold winter.
Stake prunus autumnalis tree – add a stake to the winter flowering cherry to encourage more height to the tree. Remove one of the top three stems.
Add some additional bark as a mulch to the existing mulch
