Initial soil test results

The soil test Shows a very high soil pH relating to a very alkaline soil, in fact the highest one we have seen with our clients
Plants have evolved / adapted to grow in different types of soil with different soil pH from acidic which would be around pH 5 and very alkaline which would be around pH 7.5 ( yours is pH 8.2 !! )
The problem is that plants have evolved / adapted to access nutrients at certain levels of pH each group of plants being able to access nutrients at different soil pHs for example camellias and rhododendrons have evolved to access nutrients in an acidic soil often found on a forest floor which is the natural area they grow in
To lower a high or alkaline soil pH we need to add acidic material such as well rotted horse manure which is acid or such compounds as sulphate of ammonia which create sulphuric acid lowering the soil pH.
