Starting a fan trained cherry tree

With the cherry it will be a grafted plant you will be able to see the bend in the stem at the base of the plant at the point the graft has been created.

Plant into the ground at the same depth the plant has been grown at. When you remove it from the pot the compost fall away, this is because its a bare root grown plant. If you look at the stem you should be able to see a line at the base of the stem, this is the original soil level from the plant before it was dug up, plant to this level. After planting water well install the wires and then you can start to train the plant into a fan shape

To secure and train the cherry you will need some wires. This is s system we have developed using wires around 200mm apart
