Late autumn and early winter is the best time for planting spring flowering bulbs such as crocus and tulips and also for planting summer flowering bulbs such as Allium
The only except is snowdrop which can be planted the autumn and winter as bulbs but are often more successful planting in the green which means some some patches of existing bulbs have started to grow in January they can be moved and planted in your garden.
