Spring is almost upon us so its time to clear out the old garden shed

At this time of year one of the annual jobs in the garden it to clean out the shed ready for another seasons activity in the garden. Its also the ideal time to consider upgrading or replacing an old shed with a new one. Unless you are going to build a shed with foundations and block or brick work your choice is limited to a prefabricated shed from wood or metal.
When shopping for metal sheds its important to consider the size you need unlike a wooden shed they are difficult to alter to increase the length or the width at a later stage. The big advantage of metal sheds is that they will last a lot longer then wooden sheds and will need require less maintenance and if you are not to keen on the “look” of a metal shed they are easy to clad with a number of different materials such as cedar shingles or other types of wood shingles.
Although a wooden shed will require more maintenance than a metal shed wooden sheds are great for the garden and allow you to make alterations as your needs and projects grow. For example its easy to cut a small opening in a sheds side to install a bird box or nesting platform inside the sheds roof structure or increase the size of the windows if you decided to grow some of your early season seedlings on a bench inside the shed.
