Here are your main gardening tasks for April
๐ฑ Borders & Groundwork
- Sweep soil off the weed sheeting (or allow rain to wash it off naturally)
- Secure sheeting by placing bark around the edges
- Reshape the island bed into a kidney shape and add more landscape sheeting
- Continue mulching beds with bark/chips
- In the side border (ground elder area):
- Lay cardboard (overlapping well)
- Add ground sheeting (Mypex)
- Cover with bark/woodchip mulch

- Take softwood cuttings from dahlias as they grow
- Cut just below a node
- Remove lower leaves and place in compost
- Keep in a propagator or bright windowsill
