Acer In Pots For A Patio.
Question
I Have bought two Acres for my patio and want to put them into pots. Please could you advise on the best type of compost/soil to plant them in?
Answer
Acers need an acid compost to do their best. You can either put a compost especially for acid loving plants or,as we often do,use John Innes number three compost and add some flowers of sulphur to turn the compost slightly acid. The advantage with John Innes compost is that, because it is soil based, it is easier to water and maintain a humid atmosphere around the plants. For More information.
