Brambles Invading Other Plants.

Question
I have a number of brambles creeping through my conifers how can I control them.
Answer
Brambles by there very nature will often invade other plants and creep and crawl through the plant making them very difficult to remove. If cut back they simply sent out more stems increasing the problem.
One solution we have developed is to use a chemical weed killer called round up which contains an active ingredient call glyphosate.Using the product produced in the 1 litre bottles as it is stronger than the smaller bottles we paint the chemical undiluted using a small paint brush directly onto the brambles stem tips covering the first 6 to 8 leaves.
Over a number of weeks the chemical travels back down the stem and kills the bramble including the roots.
This can be carried out through the year but is best from February to May on a clear sunny day with no rain expected for 48 hours .For More information.
