Changing Lawn Levels By Adding Topsoil.

I have an existing lawn which is on a slight slope ie the garden is 30ft long and at one end is 200mm lower than say half way up the garden
What I want to do is to try and level the garden.
My question is do I have to dig up the existing turf or can I put topsoil on top of the turf and reseed /returf.

Your can raise the existing lawn level by applying topsoil onto of the existing turf but its a good idea to kill the existing grass with round up weed killer and break up the surface of the existing grass with a rotovator or lightly digging it over.For More information.
