Glasshouse Base.
Question
I am building a new Glasshouse. How can I build the base?
Answer
A glasshouse base needs to be about 100mm deep. The way we construct them is to level the ground, then using sawn timber,100mm X 25mm,and pegs, make a box on the ground using the wood to form the edges secured by the pegs. When building the box you can make sure you get the levels you need.Ideally, you need to create a slight fall to one end of the base to help water drain off it.Fill the box with concrete and float off.We normally use a company that mixes the concrete on site and barrows it into the garden for you.You will be able to find a company that do this in your area by looking in yellow pages. .
