Pachira as it orginates from swamps,during the summer it should not be allowed to dry out,however in the winter when it is not growing as fast,then it does not need to be watered quite so often.Keep the humidity high by misting,if you are not able to do this place on a pebble tray to keep the humidity high.It needs to fed during the growing season April to September – Baby Bio is fine.Shrivelling leaves sounds like it is not getting enough water or that there is not enough humidity.It does not like being next to radiators! Some leaves turning lime green could be that it is a bit hungry and needs repotting come the spring.
