Wisteria From Seed.
Propagate Wisteria from seed the best way is to open the pod and remove the seed. As the seed has a hard coat you are probably best off ‘chipping’ it. You can do this by locating the hilum (the scar where the seed was attached to the pod) and make the cut to one side of it – not opposite. Alternatively you can use rough sand paper to wear the seed coat down a bit. This exercise is to let the water into the seed more easily so that the seed can begin the process of germination. Soak the seed for 24 hours in water and then plant in seed compost about the height of the seed under the compost.
