Loss Of Frogs And Toads Over Winter.
The GardenAdvice team has noticed that over the few months we have lost quite a few frogs/toads this winter. It appears the winter extremes have been too much for them.So this years its going to be important to create some new ponds and shelters for them to recover as they are a valuable addition to the garden by keeping down the slug population.
Ponds can simple be a small liner placed in a shallow hole with some old tree branches leading into the water to provide access to both frogs and toads. Shelter can be provided by some over turned old clay pots placed under a hedge or a conifer/tree.
