Climbing rose Golden Showers would be a good rose for your purpose is has a long flowering period,(yellow flowers) is fast to establish and not too thorny. With regard to the soil use some well rotted manure when you plant the roses and mulch the base as well with the same manure.Finally,it might be worth using a product called Rootgrow which will help the roses establish quickly.For More information
