Tomorrow Friday 16th June,Cherie Blair will be presented with a rose named in her honour at the BBC Gardeners World Live show. With its dark red,velvety blooms opening in loose rosette form, and a distinct,spicy aroma,Cherie;Is an eye-catching floribunda that will bring colour and vivacity to any garden.
The ‘Cherie’ rose is a breakthrough among red perfumed roses. It is particularly resilient to disease, making it a hardy bedding rose and ideal for general planting. The roses introduction will benefit Refuge, a national charity for women and children experiencing domestic violence(Cherie Booth the charity’s Patron).Royalties from each rose sold in the UK will benefit the charity.
