Lawn Care with GardenAdvice

GardenAdvice Lawn care

The GardenAdvice MyGardenTeam service comes with a soil test to determine which feed your lawn needs. Your soil test indicates a slightly acid soil so we should treat the lawn with Bio lime fertiliser.

The GardenAdvice MyGardenTeam service comes with 75 square metres of free lawn care. With the soil test results we are looking mainly at the soil pH. A soil pH that’s too high or too low will suppress the grass growth and allow weeds and moss to take over your lawn

Normally we find the soil pH in most lawns we look at is to low acidic and so we apply feeds designed to raise the soil pH ( our recommendations are based on the soil test results with normally take about 10 days to run through our labs )

Achieving the correct soil pH for your lawn is essential for reducing weeds, minimizing worm casts, and promoting healthy grass growth. The GardenAdvice MyGardenTeam service includes a comprehensive soil test to determine the specific needs of your lawn. Based on the results, we provide tailored recommendations and treatments, including 75 square meters of complimentary lawn care.

The Importance of Soil pH in Lawn Health

Soil pH plays a crucial role in the health of your lawn. If the pH is too high (alkaline) or too low (acidic), it can suppress grass growth and create an environment where weeds and moss thrive. Correcting the pH ensures that the grass can effectively absorb nutrients from the soil, promoting a lush, green lawn.

Understanding Your Soil Test Results

When you subscribe to the MyGardenTeam service, the first step is a soil test. This test provides a detailed analysis of your soil’s pH level and nutrient composition. Most lawns we assess tend to have slightly acidic soil, which requires specific treatments to balance the pH. The results of the soil test, typically processed within 10 days, guide our tailored approach to your lawn care.

Recommended Treatments Based on Soil Test Results

  1. Bio Lime Fertilizer for Acidic Soil If your soil test indicates a slightly acidic pH, we recommend treating your lawn with Bio Lime fertilizer. This treatment helps to raise the soil pH, creating an environment more conducive to grass growth and less favorable for weeds and moss.
  2. Custom Lawn Feeds In addition to pH correction, we use specialized feeds based on your soil’s specific nutrient needs. These feeds enhance grass health by replenishing essential nutrients, further discouraging weed growth and minimizing worm casts.
