Keep Young Minds Growing This Summer

School Summer Holiday Activities For Young Gardeners
Looking for meaningful, nature-filled activities to keep the kids busy during the school summer holidays? The GardenAdvice Young Gardeners Club is the perfect way for parents and grandparents to introduce young people under 16 to the joys of gardening — while giving them something fun, educational, and outdoorsy to enjoy throughout the break.
Open to children under 16 whose parents or grandparents are GardenAdvice members (and have either completed a GardenAdvice gardening course or are part of our GardenAdvice MyGardenTeam Service), the club offers a fantastic way to nurture a lifelong love of plants and the planet.
Holiday Projects That Spark Curiosity
We know that keeping children entertained during the holidays can be a challenge — especially if you want to steer them away from screens and toward something hands-on and meaningful.
That’s where the Young Gardeners Club steps in. Our expert GardenAdvice team is on hand to help you set up a range of engaging summer gardening projects that children can dive into with excitement and purpose.
🌱 Grow Trees from Seed
Let them become little tree guardians! This project teaches young gardeners how to grow trees from seed, watching their saplings come to life while learning about the environment, patience, and responsibility. It’s also a great way to contribute to tree-planting and rewilding efforts.
🐞 Work for Beetles
Children love bugs — especially when they know they’re helping them! This project focuses on creating mini habitats to support native beetle populations and biodiversity. It’s perfect for gardens big or small and opens young eyes to the hidden life in the soil.
